Her funeral service was on 8th April 2005 to a congregation of well over 200 people
Caroline Rose was born in the Simpson in Edinburgh on the 4th August 1980 weighing 8lbs 19in long.
She went to School in Hailesland for a few months, Till the whole family moved out to Livingston
then she went to Bankton Primary and then on to The James Young High School. There she enjoyed CDT
and History and in particular, Art with Mr Smollack, of the Art Department was her favorite teacher
and she was one of his best students. She was happy and very popular at school.
When she left school she briefly studied Art at Stevenson College then she got a job with BUPA in
their catering department.
she also worked for Fast Forward as a receptionist.
Then she went to work for U:S:C as a receptionist and after six months had worked her way up to
their accounts department where she spent the next four years. She was highly thought of at work and
had great prospects. in fact there was no doubt that she would have soon been promoted further.
William was her world she loved taking William and Mark out she was lovely bubbly fun loving, She
would dance into work even on the bleakest of days and try cheer everyone up. She was also feisty
she was a bit of a closet snob to be honest, she and William moved into a council flat she hated it
that she was determined to better herself. This included her owning her own house And she did and
was house proud wouldn't let visitors in unless it was immaculate She was a good financial manager
but would not go without her make up and hair she was elegant she could have been a model.
Caroline loved to get and give cuddles since she died we have all realized just how much a cuddle is
worth. Another piece of advice I would give would be get a photo of your family at least once a
year coz nobody knows what is round the corner.

I stood by your bed last night.
I came to have a peep.
I could see that you were crying and you found it hard to sleep.
I spoke to you softly as you brushed away a tear,
“It's me, I haven't left you, I'm well, I'm fine, I'm here”.
I was close to you at breakfast
as I watched you pour the tea.
You were thinking of the many times your hands reached out to me.
I was with you at the shops today; your arms were getting sore.
I longed to take your parcels, oh I wish I could do more.
I was with you at my grave today; you tend it with such care.
I want to re-assure you Mum that I'm not lying there.
I flew with you towards the house as you fumbled for your key.
I gently landed on you; I smiled and said, “it's me”.
You looked so very tired as you sank into a chair.
I tried so hard to let you know, that I was really there.
It's possible for me to be so near you everyday.
To say to you with certainty “I never went away”.
You sat there very quietly, then smiled, I think you knew...
in the stillness of that evening, I was very close to you.
The day is over... I smile and watch you yawning and say “goodnight, God bless, I'll see you in the morning”.
And when the time is right for you to cross the brief divide,
I'll fly across to greet you and we'll once more stand side by side.
I have so many things to show you,
there is so much for you to see.
Be patient, live your journey out...
then come home to be with me
